- This is what made the Defender 90 SVX so special:
- Strictly limited production, Only 70 SVX models (90 3 drs) were produced worldwide.
- This makes it a sought-after collector’s item today.
- Exclusive styling, the SVX was instantly recognisable by its completely distinctive look:
- Colour scheme: Available exclusively in deep black metallic (Santorini Black) with subtle, matt black ‘60th anniversary’ decals on the flanks and bonnet.
- Front: A distinctive silver-coloured grille (Titan look) with unique, clear headlamps and a reinforced aluminium underbody protection plate.
- Wheels: Special 16-inch Diamond Turned five-spoke alloy wheels, with one of the spokes painted dark grey.
- Rear: The very first Defender to be factory-fitted with modern round LED tail lights.
- Unprecedented luxury inside whilst the standard Defender in 2010 was still a spartan workhorse, the SVX was packed with premium options:
- Recaro sports seats: Large, deep bucket seats upholstered in a combination of leather and fabric, including heated seats.
- Premium Audio: A high-quality Clarion audio system with a powerful subwoofer mounted behind the front seats.
- Technology: A built-in Garmin sat-nav (unique for a Defender at the time) and an iPod connection.
- Trim: An aluminium gear knob and a dashboard finished in the body colour.Under the bonnet, the SVX shared its engineering with the standard Defender of that era (the reliable 2.4-litre TD4 diesel engine producing 122 pk and a six-speed manual gearbox).
- However, the suspension had been subtly adjusted, making it just that little bit more comfortable on tarmac than its siblings
